Feature Spotlight:
Critical Insights AI – Auto Audio Redaction Software

Are you buried under official records requests?
Public safety agencies face growing pressure to fulfill record requests promptly and accurately, but manual redaction of sensitive information is time-consuming and resource-intensive. Eventide Communications’ Auto Audio Redaction software, part of Critical Insights AI, helps emergency communications centers (ECCs) significantly cut redaction time, easing administrative burdens.
Complete Recording Requests Faster
To support ECCs in meeting recording request demands, Critical Insights AI includes two time-saving tools within its Auto Audio Redaction software: Audio Redaction Mode and AI Redaction Mode. Both tools are designed to simplify the redaction process while maintaining full control and auditability over redacted content
What once required full call review and manual editing can now be completed in just a few clicks.
Audio Redaction Mode
Audio Redaction Mode allows telecommunicators to read the transcription of a call and select the text they want to redact. Simply check the “Audio Redaction Mode” box and highlight the desired portion of text. The audio tied to that text will be redacted without the need to replay the call multiple times to locate specific details. It’s a fast, visual method to control what’s redacted.
AI Redaction Mode
Let AI do the initial work. Using AI Redaction Mode, Critical Insights AI analyzes recordings and automatically redacts identifiable data such as names, phone numbers, and addresses. Staff can then review and fine-tune redactions in just a few clicks. What might have taken up to an hour now takes only minutes.
Reduce Administrative Burden
ECCs are facing staffing shortages and growing administrative workloads. Audio redaction software can reduce redaction time to help teams stay compliant without pulling staff away from core responsibilities. For centers operating under strain, this tool reduces operational stress to support retention and transparency goals. With logged, auditable, and export-ready output, agencies can efficiently process audio records for Freedom of Information Act requests, litigation, and compliance audits.
Process redactions faster without exhausting critical resources.
