Eventide Communications Achieves SOC 2 Compliance
Independent assurance for the security and availability of Eventide’s cloud-based solutions
Eventide Communications has completed an independent SOC 2 Type 1 examination covering controls supporting the security and availability of its cloud-based solutions, including Critical Insights AI and cloud-hosted NexLog DX-Series solutions.
For public safety agencies and other mission-critical organizations, this provides independent assurance that security is being addressed not only at the infrastructure level, but within the controls supporting Eventide’s cloud services.
What Is SOC 2?
SOC 2 is an examination framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for evaluating controls at organizations that provide technology and other services.
The framework uses AICPA’s Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy. Eventide’s examination covers Security and Availability.
Eventide completed a SOC 2 Type 1 examination through the independent audit firm, A-LIGN. The examination also includes relevant HIPAA/HITECH safeguards, providing additional assurance for organizations that may handle protected health information.
Why SOC 2 Matters for Public Safety Agencies
Modern PSAPs increasingly rely on software and cloud services to handle operationally critical communications and data. Eventide’s Critical Insights AI platform, for example, works with sources including phone and 911 audio, radio, CAD data, and agent information to provide automated QA/QM, search, analytics, and other operational capabilities.
When an agency entrusts those functions to a SaaS provider, security review becomes part of vendor due diligence. A SOC 2 examination provides security, IT, and procurement teams with independent information about the provider’s controls, rather than requiring them to rely solely on the provider’s own representations.
