Webinar Overview

Join leaders from 9-1-1 Emergency Communication Centers for a focused discussion on how their agencies evaluated and adopted AI tools for public safety and mission-critical communications.

Moderated by Casey Rives, Client Solutions Consultant at Eventide Communications LLC, this first of two webinars will examine how panellists assessed their agency needs, identified viable solutions, and moved implementation and deployment forward with clear goals.

Panelists will discuss how they gained support across leadership and staff, approached funding, and set benchmarks to evaluate progress throughout the rollout.

The conversation will also cover early impact data, lessons learned from deployment, and the practical considerations of introducing AI into communication centers.

Webinar attendees will come away with clear, experience-based insights to help guide them in making informed decisions about AI adoption, with an emphasis on accountability, responsible execution, and true operational value.

Panelists:

Becky Neugent, CPE

Director at Autauga County 9-1-1

Becky Neugent began her public safety career in 1997 with the Clarke County Commission, where she led the county’s transition from basic to enhanced 9-1-1 service. She researched, selected, and helped install the technology for the new 9-1-1 center, including CAD, radio, recording, and CPE systems. Throughout her career, she has implemented multiple CAD, 9-1-1 phone, recording, and radio systems while building practical experience in call handling and dispatch operations.

Becky attended her first APCO Basic Public Safety Telecommunicator Course in 2000, became an instructor, and joined APCO as a full member in 2001. She has since served APCO at both the local and international levels. APCO selected her as Alabama Executive Council Representative in 2009, and she served in that role until 2016. Members then elected her as Gulf Coast Region Board of Directors Representative, where she completed two terms. Her professional credentials include the Certificate of Emergency Communication Administration, the Basic Level Emergency Manager certification, and APCO International’s Certified Public-Safety Executive designation, which she earned in 2023.

Becky relocated from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, to Prattville, Alabama, in June 2022 and became 9-1-1 Director for the Autauga County Emergency Communications District. APCO International swore her in as its 88th President in August 2023, an honor she considers one of the most meaningful achievements of her career.

Becky is the proud mother of two, Will and Jordan, and “BB” to her beloved grandchildren: Madelyn, Trevor, Ella, Gaines, Katelyn, Macon, and Thomas J.

Casey Rives

Client Solutions Consultant, Eventide Communications LLC.

With over a decade of public safety experience as a 9-1-1 telecommunicator and hostage/crisis negotiator, Casey helps emergency communications centers apply AI across their full center lifecycle. Her background in crisis response and communications helps her connect technology to the practical demands of mission-critical operations.
