The Role 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Information Security & Compliance Officer to lead all aspects of security and compliance across the organization. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our security strategy to meet regulatory, industry, and customer requirements. The Company Security Officer will serve as the primary authority on compliance frameworks including SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST 800-171, CJIS, and CMMC, and will oversee both corporate and product security. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Serve as the organization’s primary owner of all security and compliance initiatives.  
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and controls to align with SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST 800-171, and CMMC requirements. 
  • SOC 2 (Type II) Program Ownership 
  • Maintain the annual audit cycle: readiness, auditor PBC coordination, fieldwork, and report delivery. 
  • Run the recurring control cadence: monthly evidence gathering; quarterly access reviews, vendor risk reviews, and backup/restore tests; semiannual incident response tabletops; annual BCP/DR test, policy review, and risk assessment update. 
  • Improve and automate controls (e.g., access reviews, logging, change management) with lightweight GRC tooling. 
  • HIPAA Program Leadership 
  • Lead the annual Security Rule risk analysis, Privacy Rule policy reviews, and workforce HIPAA training. 
  • Oversee PHI safeguards across administrative, technical, and physical controls (e.g., audit log reviews, cleandesk/PHI disposal checks, facility security). 
  • Manage BAAs and third-party risk for systems handling PHI; coordinate breach response tabletop exercises. 
  • Product & Data Security 
  • Partner with product, engineering, and IT teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC). 
  • Implement secure coding practices, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and product security reviews. 
  • Define security requirements for cloud infrastructure, data storage, and access controls. 
  • Monitor and improve security logging, incident response, and forensic readiness related to product operations. 
  • Cross Functional Governance

  • Partner with Security/IT on vulnerability and patch management, identity and access management, logging/monitoring, and encryption posture.

What You’ll Bring 

  • Demonstrated experience leading compliance audits and achieving certifications. 
  • 5–8+ years in information security, privacy, or IT risk/compliance roles with hands-on SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA experience. 
  • Proven success running audits end-to-end (readiness → fieldwork → remediation) and coordinating multiple control owners. 
  • Strong policy writing, evidence curation, and auditor communication skills. 
  • Practical grasp of cloud/SaaS controls (e.g., AWS, SSO/IAM, logging/monitoring, backup/DR). 
  • Familiar with frameworks/tools such as NIST CSF/80053, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and modern GRC platforms (e.g., Vanta/Data/Secure frame). 
  • Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud), encryption, identity & access management, and data protection best practices. 
  • Experience with product/application security, secure SDLC, and vulnerability management

Compensation

Our Senior Systems Administrator is a mid-level position with a strong opportunity for advancement. The Senior System Administrator will oversee & provide the primary day-to-day support for end users in maintaining workstations and interacting with our networks and software.

  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency with a software system that they have worked with in the past and be able to explain how it works.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a support environment

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network design, switching, configuration and debugging skills
  • Experience writing computer programs or automation scripts.
  • Working knowledge of Linux (Debian or similar) and Windows operating systems at the system administrator level
  • Knowledge of VoIP protocols, including but not limited to H.323, SIP, SCCP (SKINNY), etc. is a plus, but not required
  • Exposure and working knowledge of some but not all traditional telecommunications technologies, such as analog telephones and trunks, T1 & E1, ISDN-PRI, is also a plus, but not required
  • Available to travel up from 5-25% depending on demand
